Our objective is to support Medical Specialists and Allied Health Professionals run successful private practices.  As a doctor, you are trained to care for patients not run complex private medical practices.  The task of setting up and managing the day-to-day operations of a private practice can be daunting.  In our experience, most health professionals are time poor or ill equipped to run the day-to-day operations of a business or they employ the wrong people leaving the practice in a mess, exposed to risk and therefore taking time away from patient care.

With over 30 years of experience in the health and finance industry, our experienced team is here to provide you and your team with the business and administrative support required for a successful & most importantly, profitable business.  From private billing and registration with private health insurers, to streamlining the day-to-day management of patient administration or bookkeeping services we are here every step of the way.

Carli

Manager

Carli is a highly experienced Perioperative Nurse and Healthcare Manager with more than 27 years of experience in Healthcare. Carli holds a Bachelor of Nursing and Post Graduate qualification in Perioperative Nursing, she has continued professional development in Leadership, human factors and Health Management. Carli is a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) and has demonstrated expertise in all areas of perioperative nursing, surgical support, team management, and clinical education. Carli has a wealth of experience in leading and optimizing healthcare operations. With a proven track record in building and nurturing high performing teams. Carli has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, focusing on the development of staff, operational excellence, and ensuring that patient care remains at the forefront of OCGC. Skilled in driving business growth she plays a pivotal role in identifying and addressing the evolving needs of OCGC. Through careful analysis and forward thinking strategies, Carli has successfully streamlined processes, enhanced patient satisfaction, and improved overall clinic efficiency. She thrives on fostering a collaborative environment, where team members are empowered to succeed, and strong communication channels are established to ensure that the clinic operates smoothly and effectively. With a keen understanding of both clinical and business sides of operations, Carli is dedicated to creating an environment where staff, medical practitioners and patients feel valued and supported. A proud mother of two talented girls who represent at both state and National levels in Netball. Carli has a deep appreciation for teamwork, discipline and dedication. Married for 25 years, Carli values the importance of family and balance, drawing on her experience as a supportive partner and a devoted mother to bring a unique perspective to her professional life. Whether leading in her career or supporting her family, Carli combines her strategic mindset with a strong sense of integrity and care, fostering growth and success in all aspects of her life.

Nicole

Accountant

Qualified (CPA), and highly experienced Accountant with strong strategic capability, combined with proven success managing and adapting to change whilst providing analytical and strategic support to assist senior decision making. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, she has managed teams and possess the confidence to liaise with business stakeholders at all levels. Nicole has worked for various organisations in Australia and the UK and has led major complex accounting change projects – including significant accounting reform following the Global Financial Crisis (GFC). Nicole has experience across the majority of accounting disciplines including: taxation, consolidation/external reporting, technical accounting policy and management information planning & analysis. With a quality and results focus, she is confident working in dynamic, fast paced environments, and possess an in depth understanding of complex financial issues and proven ability identifying risk and opportunity. Nicole has a ‘hands on’ approach with a track record of driving effective change; and experience evaluating, developing and implementing new policies, procedures and systems relating to accounting and compliance. With extensive exposure to international markets and working in a highly regulated environments, Nicole is proactive and innovative with a practical approach. Nicole is an avid runner and has completed Comrades Marathon which is an 89km gruelling ultra-marathon – commonly known as the “Ultimate Human Race”! When she isn’t running, she is organising the chaos of two young boys and a husband at home.

Demi-Rae

Projects & Business

Demi-Rae first joined OCGC in 2020, bringing a wealth of experience drawn from her extensive background in private specialist practice, where she has worked since 2013. Her professional journey has equipped her with a solid foundation in medical administration, team leadership, and practice management skills that have made her an invaluable asset to OCGC. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a keen ability to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and foster a well-organised work environment.   Her strategic approach has been instrumental in overseeing daily operations and ensuring the business runs seamlessly. After three years in the Manager role at OCGC, Demi-Rae made the decision to pursue a different pathway in her career. We are thrilled to announce that she has accepted a new position within the business, where she will focus on developing and implementing business growth strategies. This new role leverages her extensive experience and expertise, allowing her to contribute to the businesses future growth and success in a new and exciting way. Outside of her professional life, Demi-Rae is a devoted mother of two, balancing her family life with her passion for volleyball. During her athletic career since 2007, she has represented both Queensland and South Australia in various competitions, showcasing her skill and dedication to the sport. She is also a proud member of the Gold Coast Volleyball Club, where her contributions to the sport have been widely recognised. In a remarkable achievement, Demi-Rae became the first female athlete to be awarded life membership by the club—a testament to her long-standing commitment and impact. Additionally, she has an award named in her honor, which she presents annually to a promising junior athlete, inspiring the next generation of volleyball talent. Her dedication to the sport and to nurturing young athletes highlights her leadership and mentorship.

Eleanor

Finance
Eleanor has been an integral part of the OCGC team since 2020, beginning her journey as a receptionist and evolving into a vital source of administrative support for the entire business. In 2018, Eleanor earned her Bachelor of Business from the University of the Sunshine Coast, equipping her with the skills and knowledge to excel in her role. Today, she plays a key role in managing the business finances, overseeing surgical billing, and facilitating the onboarding of new specialists. Her attention to detail and organisational skills ensure that operations run seamlessly. Outside of work, Eleanor cherishes quality time spent with her friends and family. She loves going to the beach and finding new places to wine and dine! With her extensive experience and comprehensive understanding of all roles within OCGC, Eleanor is not only a reliable team member but also a mentor to her colleagues, always ready to share her insights and foster a collaborative environment. Her dedication and positive spirit make her an invaluable asset to the OCGC team.

Katie

Nurse

Katie is our passionate nurse with over eight years of experience specialising in orthopaedics. Her dedication to providing high-quality, individualised care drives her to ensure that each patient feels heard, supported, and reassured throughout their treatment journey. She believes that compassionate care is just as important as clinical expertise and strives to create a positive and comforting environment for all. Outside of her professional life, Katie enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. Whether it’s sharing a meal, exploring new places, or simply enjoying each other’s company, these moments are invaluable to her. Balancing her career with meaningful personal connections keeps Katie grounded and motivated in her work.

Janet

Administration

With a strong background in finance and more than 10 years of experience in administration at Gold Coast University Hospital, Janet has developed a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare sector, including the critical importance of operational efficiency and financial management. Over the years, she has honed her skills in navigating the complexities of the healthcare environment, recognizing the profound impact that exceptional customer service has on both patient care and staff collaboration. Janet’s passion for healthcare, coupled with her dedication to supporting others, drives her commitment to ensuring smooth operations and creating positive, meaningful experiences for all those she interacts with, whether patients, staff, or external partners. Outside of her professional life, Janet embraces a well-rounded lifestyle, enjoying quality time with friends and family, discovering new destinations, and immersing herself in different cultures. Her creative side shines through her love for sewing, where she enjoys crafting unique pieces, and she finds great joy in attending live music events. Alana

Administration

Alana grew up in Darwin before relocating to the Gold Coast with her family in 2014. Since 2020, she has been working in medical administration, gaining valuable experience in general practice. Alana brings a high level of efficiency and meticulousness to the OCGC team, where she manages everything from answering phones to booking surgeries and making appointments. Currently, Alana is pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Accounting and Management. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her partner, exploring new walking trails, and discovering new dining spots. A true coffee enthusiast, Alana LOVES a medium latte made with almond milk and a touch of honey.

Mary

Administration

Mary joined the OCGC team in 2024, bringing with her a wealth of experience from her 14 years at Gold Coast Private Hospital. Known for her kindness and compassion, she is dedicated to ensuring that both patients and colleagues feel valued and supported. As the first point of contact for enquiries, Mary skilfully handles appointment scheduling and surgical bookings, always with a warm smile and a helpful attitude. Married since 2000 to her husband, a Registered Nurse, Mary shares a deep commitment to healthcare. Together, they enjoy spending their free time on the golf course, casting a line while fishing, or cheering on their favourite teams at the Rugby Union Club. Her vibrant personality and strong work ethic make her a cherished member of the OCGC team, contributing to a welcoming and efficient environment for all.

Taniesha

Administration

Taniesha is a dedicated and experienced individual with a strong background in customer service. She has worked in various customer-facing roles, where she has perfected her organisational skills and built a reputation for her happy, caring attitude. Taniesha is known for her ability to manage tasks efficiently, whether it’s answering phones, scheduling surgeries, and being the welcoming face that greets patients at OCGC. Her positive demeanor and commitment to providing excellent service make her a valued member of the team, ensuring smooth operations and a comfortable environment for patients. Outside of her work, Taniesha enjoys spending her spare time at the beach, where she finds relaxation and joy. Family is also an important part of her life, and she loves hanging out with them, cherishing the moments spent together. With a passion for helping others and a deep understanding of the needs of those around her, Taniesha continues to bring her best self to her professional and personal life.
